CeeDee Lamb’s home burglarized; $300,000 in property stolen while Dallas Cowboys star was at training camp
Authorities say evidence indicates a single individual broke into and exited the home through a smashed window in late July.
Police reported that the Texas home of CeeDee Lamb—a wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys—was burglarized in late July, with $300,000 worth of property stolen while he was attending training camp.
This incident is the latest in a series of brazen burglaries targeting wealthy athletes in recent years.
Police arrived at Lamb’s home in Fairview, Texas, on the afternoon of July 31 after receiving a report of the burglary.
In a statement released Sunday, Fairview police said that upon arrival, officers met with “representatives for Mr. Lamb,” who pointed out a broken window on the side of the house—believed to be the point of entry for the burglar.
Officials stated that evidence points to a single person entering and exiting through that window and taking “several high-end personal items.” According to the *Fort Worth Star-Telegram* (citing the police report), the total value of the stolen property exceeded $300,000, including four designer handbags.
The incident remains under investigation.
Lamb, 27—a first-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2020—was participating in the team’s training camp in Oxnard, California, at the time of the burglary.
NBC News has reached out to Lamb’s representatives for comment. This burglary is the latest in a series of break-ins targeting the homes of famous athletes.
Last month, police reported that the Pennsylvania home of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was broken into while he and his family were inside. No one was injured in the incident.
Last year, a 21-year-old man from Seattle was charged in connection with burglaries at the homes of four NFL and MLB players—both active and retired—including Seattle Mariners pitcher Luis Castillo and former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.
Also last year, three men alleged to be part of a South American burglary ring were charged for breaking into the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. According to the criminal complaint, items including luggage, eyewear, watches, and jewelry worth more than $300,000 were stolen during that incident.
